The Castle is available for most of the year for self-catering holdays and short breaks. The castle was built in the mid-nineteenth century and the impressive entrance front has been praised in Burke’s “Guide to Country Houses”. The rooms are comfortably furnished so that they retain their character and charm. The attractive grounds are spacious; a place where children can play games on the lawns and adults can sit and relax. Please browse through the photograph album to capture the ambience of Anner Castle. All the rooms in Anner Castle are traditional, spacious, high-ceilinged rooms, many of which retain original features such as fireplaces and mouldings. The furnishings are in keeping with this period style and each room creates its own individual character. Enjoy sitting around a blazing log fire, chatting with friends or family. The castle, with its four bedrooms ( three of which are very spacious) is ideal for families, either several generations of one family or two families sharing. Alternatively it is very suitable for up to four couples, with or without small children. On entering through the double wooden doors from the columned porch you will find yourself in the Entrance Hall which leads to the Drawing Room, the Tower Sitting Room, the Kitchen and a Downstairs Cloakroom (with shower and toilet). Log fires may be lit in both the Drawing Room and the Tower Sitting Room. The kitchen is equipped with an electric cooker, a fridge/freezer, a microwave oven, a dishwasher and a spin drier. After climbing the original wide wooden staircase you will find four Bedrooms, a Bathroom (with bath, shower and toilet) and a Balcony leading off from a sizable Landing. Two of the bedrooms are within the twin octagonal towers and look out over the lawns and garden whereas the other two bedrooms have wonderful views over the parkland to the mountains across the valle

Endroit

The Castle is located in the silvan Suir valley, bordered on both sides by mountains which can be seen from various rooms in the castle and from aspects of the grounds, parkland and river. The estate is in south County Tipperary near its border with Counties Waterford, Cork and Kilkenny. To the south, the charming coastline has sheltered, peaceful coves and broad sandy beaches, tall cliffs and sea caves. Our nearest village is Kilsheelan – a frequent best kept village prizewinner. There are many good local pubs and restaurants in Clonmel and the nearby heritage towns of Cahir, Cashel and the medieval city of Kilkenny to explore.
